Make tracks to Riverbanks for one wild 5k race that benefits wildlife conservation!

Riverbanks Run will wind through the park’s scenic back roads, cross the Saluda River, and pass some of the most popular exhibits in the Zoo.

Registration
Closes on Friday, May 10 at 4:59pm.

Advance registration only. There will be no day-of registration. Limited capacity, tickets may sell out.

Entry fee includes a Riverbanks Run T-shirt*, chip timing, and award eligibility.

*T-shirts are not guaranteed after 4/24/2024.

The 5K starts promptly at 7:15am. The event will be held rain or shine.

Wear your event T-shirt, lace up your shoes, and walk or run in your favorite place. Post a photo of your walk or run on social media using the hashtag #RiverbanksRun.

Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10 from 11:00am–6:00pm at Strictly Running (2515 Devine Street).

  • Where and when do I pick up my race packet?

    Packets include a Riverbanks Run T-shirt*, chip timing, award eligibility, and other information that will be useful in advance of the race. Packet Pick-up is scheduled for Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10 from 11:00am–6:00pm at Strictly Running (2515 Devine Street). If needed, you may send a friend or family member to pick up your packet. *T-shirts are not guaranteed after 4/24/2024.

  • Where should I park?

    Parking will be at the main Zoo entrance only (500 Wildlife Parkway). Follow the signs.

  • What time should I arrive on race day?

    Participants should arrive no later than 6:45am to allow adequate time for parking and positioning yourself at the start line.

  • Are strollers permitted?

    Strollers are permitted at the back of the 5K race.

  • Are spectators allowed?

    Considering the racecourse, spectators will not be allowed inside the Zoo. Spectators may cheer on racers from the parking lot where the start line and finish line are located.

  • What are the award categories?

    A medal will be awarded to the following on-site racers: top 3 male and female overall; first male and female master (40+); top 3 male and female in each age group. Race results will be available to all participants one hour after the race begins and will be available online at www.strictlyrunning.com.

  • What is the weather policy?

    This event will be held rain or shine.

  • What are the refund and transfer policies?

    Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
