Farm to Fork Dinner Set for Thursday, May 24

[Columbia, SC] — Riverbanks invites guests to partake in a palate-pleasing experience set in one of the nation’s most beautiful and inspiring public gardens. Farm to Fork in the Garden is scheduled for Thursday, May 24, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

Guests will enjoy al fresco, family-style dining amid Riverbanks’ lush Botanical Garden. The farm-fresh feast will showcase a delectable blend of gourmet, organic cuisine prepared with locally grown ingredients generously supplied by City Roots, Anson Mills and hand-picked from Riverbanks’ own vegetable garden in Waterfall Junction. Specialty cocktails and select wine and beer will complement the mouthwatering menu.

“Sustainable farms produce food that’s healthy for people and the planet,” said Susan O’Cain, public relations manager at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. “This experience will showcase the benefits of eco-friendly eating while guests enjoy a delicious dinner and the spectacular sights of the Garden at dusk.”

The evening will conclude with an opportunity for guests to speak with a Riverbanks horticulturist about breathtaking blooms and fascinating foliage.

Admission is $80 for Riverbanks’ members and $100 for the general public. Tickets are limited and should be purchased in advance online. All proceeds benefit wildlife conservation at Riverbanks and beyond.
