Zoo Members Invited to Explore, Learn and Enjoy the Park After Hours

2011 Members’ Night Series Kicks off at Riverbanks Zoo Friday, May 20
[Columbia, SC] — Come one night or all three, but if you are a member of Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, don’t miss out on the fun of the 2011 Members’ Night Series, set to kick off Friday, May 20.
In appreciation of the loyalty and support of Riverbanks members, the Zoo will open its gates for members only to explore the park on three exclusive Friday nights from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. Each animal-themed event will give members the chance to learn more about the magnificent and fascinating residents that call Riverbanks home while enjoying an affordable night out with family and friends.
On May 20, "It’s All about Mammals.” Members will get a first-hand look at wildlife in action as the lions, gorillas and meerkats take part in enrichment exercises designed to stimulate their senses and encourage natural behaviors. Plus, kids can get a temporary tattoo and encounter some animal friends up close.
Riverbanks members are invited to have more "Fun with Our Feathered Friends” on June 17; and on July 15, members can "Hop, Slither and Crawl” with some of our favorite cold-blooded comrades.
Other perks of the Members’ Night Series include surprise behind-the-scenes tours or demonstrations and a $1.00 menu featuring hot dogs, pretzels, ice cream and ICEE’s and a free 12-ounce Coke.
