Day Camps

Riverbanks’ Spring Break Zoo Camp (ages 5–9) and Winter Zoo Camp (ages 5–10) pack hands-on activities, animal encounters, behind-the-scenes tours, games, and arts and crafts into two to three fun-filled days. The Summer Zoo Camp programs (Sprout Camp, KinderCamp, and Wild Weeks) serve 3–12 year olds.

Family Programs

We want your children to grow up WILD with Riverbanks Zoo. Family Programs are special opportunities for families to learn more about the world of Riverbanks. Age-specific programs are offered to all groups from the very young to adults!

Garden Programs

Riverbanks’ Garden Programs provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn more about gardening and the fascinating world of plants. Come play in the dirt at one of these hands-on programs!

Homeschool Programs

Families with homeschooled children ages 5–13 can partake in hands-on learning experiences during the Zoo’s new Homeschool Programs, offered quarterly. Budding gardeners ages 8–13 can also become certified green thumbs in the Junior Master Gardener program for Homeschoolers.

Overnights

Spend a wild night at Riverbanks! The ZooCamp Overnight program features behind-the-scenes tours, games, and other exciting activities!

School Programs

Whether you teach preschool or high school, we have a school program to fit your needs. All programs are carefully crafted around South Carolina Science Academic Standards and are developed to involve your students in active, inquiry-based learning.

Scout Programs

Attention Daisy, Brownie, Junior and Cub Scouts: Come as a troop, pack or with the family to any of our exciting and informative Scout Programs where you can earn credits toward badge requirements, achievements, electives and journeys. From traditional formats to wild explorations, Scout Programs offer a variety of fresh topics and experiences.

Tours

Enhance your visit with a guided tour! School groups can choose from Zoo or Garden tours; behind-the-scenes Adventure Tours are recommended for individuals and families.

ZooTeens

The ZooTeen volunteer program provides two years of fun, adventure, animal handling and training to develop team building, public speaking, leadership and job readiness skills—all while having a WILD TIME!
