Duties: Under direct supervision, provides consistently high quality guest service to Riverbanks’ guests and Society members. Works in a variety of guest services locations throughout the park including admissions (ticket booth), carousel, giraffe feeding platform, lorikeet aviary booth, Ropes Course, etc. Handles purchase transactions and manages cash/tokens. Communicates with the public about Riverbanks exhibits, attractions, services, and policies. Reports to the Guest Services Manager and the Director of Guest Services.

Requirements: High school diploma and 4-6 months of work experience in customer service or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Cashier experience and strong customer services skills are required. Must be available week days and weekends.

Duties: Under general supervision, is responsible for the proper preparation and delivery of diets and feed for all animals in the collection by daily deadlines. Prepares diets in accordance with specifications that include precise weights, measures, ingredient size, and other critical preparation instructions. Assures acceptable condition of produce and feed inventories and rotates stock. Unloads supplies, cleans and sanitizes diet preparation and storage areas. Prepares and maintains written records. Provides assistance and information to co-workers, veterinary, and keeper staff as needed. Reports to the Senior Technician and the Commissary Manager.

Requirements: High School graduate or Associates Degree (preferred), with a minimum of one year general work experience, preferably in a quality-driven service environment or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must be able to manage detailed assignments in a fast-paced work environment. Must be thorough, dependable, organized, and punctual. Five-day work week, 7:15 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Two consecutive days off weekly to be determined later, but work week will include all Saturdays, Sundays, and most holidays. Must be at least 18 years old and have or be eligible for a valid SC driver’s license.

Duties: Under general supervision, performs horticultural duties for the purpose of beautifying and maintaining gardens, exhibits, animal habitats, plant collections, and/or public displays. Must be eager to learn about our collection and have ability to demonstrate creativity and teamwork. Works outdoors year-round in all weather conditions. Reports to the Director Zoo Habitat Horticulture.

Requirements: Associates degree in Horticulture, Bachelors degree preferred with two years experience in a horticultural area; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Prefer professional horticulture experience and/or training. Must be able to work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Must possess or be eligible for a valid SC driver’s license.

Duties: Under general supervision, operates and monitors the pony ride exhibit at the Riverbanks Farm, by leading ponies around the outdoor track while interacting with young riders. Must ensure that children and ponies alike are kept safe, and that children get an appropriate educational message from the experience. Is responsible for the care and husbandry of the ponies including feeding, grooming, cleaning the holding and exhibit areas, and record keeping. Reports to the Senior Keeper and Attractions Supervisor.

Requirements: High school diploma and 6 months work experience with ponies, horses or other large farm animals. Must have a good rapport with young children and enjoy interacting with them and their parents. Must have good presentation and communication skills. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, be able to lift 50lbs, and be able to walk long distances repetitively.
