Facilities are available one hour after park closes through 11:00pm. Events must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.

Riverbanks Zoo’s popular Lights Before Christmas’ half-million twinkling lights and snow falling throughout the park provide the perfect backdrop for your company’s holiday festivities.
Admission tickets (with private rental and minimum of 50 people): $7 per person.
Riverbanks is pleased to offer a limited birthday party package for children (PDF). If you prefer to rent a room, the smallest meeting space available at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is 3,000 square feet (capacity 100) and rents for $500 a day. No. Riverbanks has an exclusive, on-site caterer. No outside food or beverage is allowed through the park gates. This special arrangement allows a portion of your catering dollars to support Riverbanks conservation programs and help feed the animals.
Tables, chairs, linens and all set-up is owned by Riverbanks Catering. These labor costs are built in to the food prices, so catering services are required to book space at Riverbanks. There is a minimum of 50 people required for private events.
The park opens at 9:00am and closes at 5:00pm on weekdays and at 6:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays during daylight savings. Daytime rentals can start as early 8:00am, and special arrangements will be made to have the gate open early for your guests. Daytime rentals must end by time of regular park closing. Evening rentals can start one hour after the park closes and can go no later than 11:00pm.
The Ndoki Lodge is the only venue equipped with a sound system for your use. It has a handheld microphone and podium that you are welcome to use, but any and all other a/v needs would be supplied by you. There is no a/v already in place in Magnolia Room.
For meetings during the day or private evening rentals, no admission tickets need to be purchased. Your guests’ admission is built in to the venue rental cost. For company picnics and other events where guests will be utilizing park services, a discounted admissions ticket will be purchased for all guests. These tickets will be delivered in advance, based on head counts, and the company will be invoiced.
You would not need to purchase a ticket for your guests that are Riverbanks members. They are welcome to utilize their membership for entrance.
Private tours are limited to small numbers of people and must be scheduled in advance through the Education Department. To see what types of tours are available and the costs associated, visit our Tours page.
All outside activities must be approved through the Sales Department. Please discuss your desires with the sales manager booking your event to determine what is or is not allowed and discuss procedures. We can provide a list of preferred vendors.
Depending on the time and date of your event, a discount on the room rental may be available. Tickets for group outings are already discounted and no further discounts apply, as Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is also a 501(c)(1) not-for-profit organization.
Parking at the Zoo and Botanical Garden is complimentary.
Alcohol is allowed at private events. Your catering manager will be happy to discuss this as well as all other food and beverage questions and pricing.

Thank your employees on one special day or throughout the year by participating in Riverbanks Zoo and Garden’s Pre-paid Discount Ticket Program. Great for family fun days, employee of the month recognition, client appreciation, or resale to your employees (helping them save their hard earned dollars). Discount tickets cost just $9 for adults and $8 for children. That’s a savings of more than 25%.
Tickets are sold in batches of 25 and companies must purchase a minimum of 25 to receive the discounted rate. For companies that plan to resell the tickets, we provide promotional materials to help you get the word out to your employees. Tickets will be printed with your company name and have no expiration date. Companies should allow five business days to receive tickets and promotional materials. Other Zoo promotions and discounts are not valid with discount tickets.
