Zoo Plots New Take on Family Movie Night
[Columbia, SC] — Enjoy family movie night in the park on select Friday evenings this summer when Twilight in the Garden dawns at Riverbanks Botanical Garden beginning Friday, June 10.
The all-new, after-hours experience offers a cool retreat for catching a family-friendly flick—plus an opportunity to explore Waterfall Junction. Fun flows from every corner in this 3-acre garden oasis that centers around a 25-foot cascading waterfall and splash zone. The attraction will open at 6:00pm and close prior to the start of the movie each night.
Twilight in the Garden will take place on the following Friday nights this summer. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket for lounging in the lawn located in front of the Garden amphitheater. Featured films include:
- June 10 — Alvin and the Chipmunks
- July 8 — Kung Fu Panda 3
- August 12 — The LEGO® Movie.
Advance tickets may be purchased online. Admission is $3 for Riverbanks members and $5 for the general public. Gates open at 6:00pm; the movie begins at dusk.
Concessions will be available for purchase; a cash bar also will be offered. Outside food and drink will not be allowed inside the park.
Parking and entry to the event will be available on the Botanical Garden side only. Guests can access the Garden entrance from U.S. 378 via Mohawk and Seminole Drives.
