Riverbanks ZooCrew

ZooCrew is Riverbanks’ newest learning program for middle school youth. The ZooCrew meets every other Saturday, September through May, to explore the field of conservation biology. ZooCrew will utilize the Riverbanks campus and exhibits to learn about environmental stewardship and the science behind animal care. Participants will cooperate with their peers and Riverbanks staff during classroom lessons, while collecting and analyzing data and conducting their own research projects. Youth entering 7th or 8th grade with an interest in animal or science-related careers are encouraged to register today for the 2019–2020 school year.

ZooCrew Schedule and Fees

Classes are held every other Saturday throughout the school year (September through May). Classes are four hours long and meet from 9:00am–1:00pm.

Annual tuition is $500 for Riverbanks members and $625 for the general public. A limited number of scholarships can be available for those who qualify. Tuition includes all classes, supplies, nametag, and one ZooCrew T-shirt per year. Additional shirts can be purchased at cost.

Registration Requirements

Students must be entering 7th or 8th grade in the fall of 2019. As ZooCrew is designed to be a two-year program, 7th grade students can return the following year.

You do not have to be a Riverbanks member to apply, but members receive discounted tuition.
