PACT TAG Education Objectives
Prepared by Brad Parks, Public Programs Coordinator / Denver Zoo; PACT TAG Educational Advisor

1. Promote International Migratory Bird Day among all AZA institutions to increase public awareness of neotropical migratory birds, and strategies of conserving these species and their habitats.

2. Develop partnerships with other professional ornithological member organizations, (National Audubon Society, Partners in Flight, Cornell Ornithology Lab) who are engaged in citizen-based science and bird education. Promote these organizations to our guests to encourage appreciation and conservation of birds in their daily lives.

3. Select five to ten recommended PACT TAG species to promote through a common education program. The resource materials will be designed to inspire and engage visitors at all interested AZA institutions.

4. Share successful PACT TAG husbandry and reproductive techniques with our professional and public audiences.

5. Develop and share successful methods of displaying PACT TAG species, so our guests can appreciate them more fully and in turn, enhance their experience and appreciation for birds.

6. Contribute PACT TAG species information and resource materials (fact sheets, curriculums, research or study data) to the AZA Resource Center for the use of AZA members.
