By Day 18, feeds were reduced to 3 hourly intervals, and the brooder temperature had been gradually reduced to 86° F. At Day 16 the eye slits had the smallest pin-hole opening.

On Day 18 we collected drops of blood from the birds' nails/claws for sex determination by Avian Biotech.

On Day 20, feathers started growing from the neck and fore-head; and the eyes started to open.
