Group Visits

Please plan to bring one adult chaperone for every 10 children. Admission rates include entry to both the Zoo and the Botanical Garden. Pets, food, beverages and coolers are not allowed in the park. Riverbanks is a smoke-free facility.

Group rates are not available for Boo at the Zoo or Lights Before Christmas, and group registration is not required for these after-hours events.

PAY IN ADVANCE: For the best admission rate and quicker access to the Zoo, we recommend that groups pay in advance online. Print-at-home tickets will be emailed directly to your group leader, and your group can avoid long lines by going straight to the turnstile.

PAY AT THE GATE: If you plan on paying on the day of your visit, we recommend you make a reservation at least two weeks in advance. While reservations are no longer required, walk-up groups without two-weeks-prior reservations will be required to pay $11 (adults) and $9 (children).

All members of your group should plan to arrive (and enter) together. Upon arrival, please have the exact count of the number of children and adults in your group. The total admission fee due for your group must be presented to the ticket booth by one representative in your party. (Check or credit card is preferred. Cash will be accepted in large bills only.)

JUNGLE MEALS: If you reserve Jungle Meals, you will receive an agreement with additional details shortly after your reservation is made. Final meal counts for adults and children will be due 48 hours prior to your visit date.

EXIT AND RE-ENTRY: If you plan to leave the Zoo during your visit, please depart as a group and return as a group by showing your ticket stub or receipt. Individuals from your group will not be allowed back in to the park without proof of purchase.

Riverbanks offers a variety of “Jungle Meals” especially designed for school groups and other young explorer groups looking for an organized, on-site lunch option.

Available during weekdays only, Jungle Meals are served at Safari Camp in the heart of the Zoo. Your group will have a reserved space under this covered pavilion, equipped with picnic tables and plenty of shade. If you are participating in an Education Program, please schedule your meal delivery time at least 20 minutes after the end of your program.

Arrangements for Jungle Meals must be made at least two weeks in advance. To reserve your Jungle Meals, call 803.779.8717 x1311 or email the catering coordinator. Once you have reserved your Jungle Meals, you will receive an agreement with additional details, and final meal counts for adults and children will be due 48 hours prior to your visit date.
