Adventure Tour — Big Cats
That isn't a house cat staring back at you! Join us to meet one of our big cats whisker to face. Marvel at their size and strength and learn what it takes to keep these large predators healthy. It is the PURRRfect way to spend an afternoon! This one-hour tour also includes other animal areas and plenty of photo opportunities. Space is limited to 12 participants.

Adventure Tour — Elephant
An elephant never forgets. Tour with us behind the scenes—in the elephant barn—to meet the largest animals in the Zoo! Watch a training session to see just how much an elephant can remember. Adventure Tour — Gorilla
Ever wanted to see where a gorilla sleeps? Take a tour behind the scenes into the gorilla night house to learn all about our keepers daily routines taking care of our magnificent boys. With some luck, one of the boys will stop in to say "Hi" too. This one-hour tour also includes other animal areas and plenty of photo opportunities. Space is limited to 6 participants.

Adventure Tour — Grizzly Bear
Be a part of a grizzly bear training session behind the scenes in their night house. Learn how Riverbanks zookeepers teach these grizzly bear brothers some easy "tricks" to help us take care of them. Adventure Tour — Madagascar
You've got to "move it, move it…" to Lemur Island at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. Meet the lemurs that call Riverbanks home. These unique primates come all the way from the island of Madagascar. Join us as we explore the behaviors of these fascinating animals up close and personal. This one-hour tour also includes other animal areas and plenty of photo opportunities. Space is limited to a total of 6 participants.

Adventure Tour — Penguin
Meet a penguin face to beak! Feel the chilly air, hear the penguin calls and see the three different species of penguins that call Riverbanks Zoo and Garden home. Join us to learn how the Zoo's animal care staff feed and care for these amazing, flightless birds. This one-hour tour also includes other animal areas and plenty of photo opportunities. Adventure Tour — Tortoise
Ever wanted to meet a giant? Giant tortoise that is. Giant Galapagos tortoises are peaceful herbivores that spend their days wallowing in mud puddles, grazing on grass and enjoy a relaxing scratch from you! Get hands-on with our oldest Zoo residents. This one-hour tour also includes other animal areas and plenty of photo opportunities. Space is limited to 12 participants.

Adventure Tour — Tropical Waters
Escape to the tropics! Visit our tropical flamingo friends up-close and personal. Help their keepers deliver lunch and learn how what our pink pals eat affects their color. Next, join us as we journey to the second floor of the Aquarium and look into the watery world under the sea—a fin-tastic opportunity to view the giant Indo-Pacific Coral Reef fish tank from a different perspective! This one-hour tour includes plenty of photo opportunities. Space is limited to a total of 6 participants.

African Adventure Tour
(special group tour—for groups only)
No need for a plane ticket. You can explore the signs and sounds of Africa right here at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. This group tour is designed for 15 - 25 participants to wander through the elephant barn while our elephant girls are out for the day. See what is required behind-scenes to keep our elephants happy and healthy. This one-hour tour also includes other animal areas and plenty of photo opportunities.
Groups of 15-25 people MUST preregister two weeks in advance. To book your private group tour today, please call 803.779.8717 x1113. Tour times are available Wednesday through Friday, 12:30 - 1:30pm.
