[Columbia, SC] - Run as a cougar, fly as a bee, swim as a dolphin and hop like a frog as you experience a fun-filled 10-minute journey at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden’s 3-D Adventure Theater. This weekend Animal Adventure will open to the public with show times running every 20 minutes from 10am to 4pm daily.

“This is one of the most animated and thrilling 3-D movies that I have ever experienced,” said Tommy Stringfellow, director of marketing at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. “Not only will kids love this film, adults will too.”

Travel back in time to a special night when a little boy builds an imaginary city of the future. A wise old owl is disturbed by the narrow vision of the boy’s dream and challenges him and the audience to see the world through the eyes of an animal. The experience peaks as spectators are magically whisked away and transformed into the lives of several magnificent creatures.

The animated scenes simulate the feeling that you are actually swimming as a dolphin, running as a cougar and soaring through the sky,” said Stringfellow. “As entertaining as the film is, in the end it reinforces the Zoo’s mission by conveying a strong conservation message about protecting the wilderness and all the animals in the world.”

A recent winner of the Canadian Conservation Award for Best Wildlife Film, Animal Adventure educates viewers about the effect that humans have on the earth. The short action film emphasizes the importance of transforming our cities into a place for all living things.

Tickets for the show at Riverbanks’ 3-D Adventure Theater are 2 Safari Bucks and can be purchased at any ticket booth in the Zoo or Garden.
