[Columbia, SC] - Riverbanks Zoo & Garden will stay open late on Thursday, June 30 as part of their First Thursdays in the Garden program, scheduled now through September.
"Dusk is a great time to really see the colors pop in the Garden, when you're out of the bright midday sun. Mix that in with a great musician, visiting artists and beer and wine and you've got a terrific night out," says Melodie Scott-Leach, director of horticulture at Riverbanks Garden.
Folk music by Julesverne will entertain guests in the Rose Garden and mosaic artist, Jinny Cherry will be showcasing her work. Sit and relax or join one of the Garden's horticulturists on a roving tour.
In 2004, the Garden was named one of the nation's most inspiring gardens by Horticulture Magazine and HGTV rated it one of the 20 best public gardens in America.
The Garden will be open from 6 to 9pm and entrance fees are $2 for members and $4 for non-members.
This summer, check out our Garden Programs for a complete list of workshops and activities going on in the Garden.
