Riverbanks Branches Out with Free Admission for Zoo Members
[Columbia, SC] — Wells Fargo presents Rhythm and Blooms: Music and Art in the Garden every Thursday night in May—and at no charge to Riverbanks members. General admission to this family-friendly event is $5.
The Garden will be groovin’ beginning on Thursday, May 2 with singer/songwriter John Wesley Satterfield. Also, new this year, guests will have an opportunity to visit with and watch local artists dig into their work.
"Rhythm and Blooms provides a fun and relaxing atmosphere to spend with family and friends,” said Lochlan Baskin, events manager at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. "Plus it’s a great time to visit the Botanical Garden and enjoy a sea of spring colors.”
The weekly musical lineup includes:
May 2: John Wesley Satterfield – Americana country-rock
May 9: Don Merckle and the Blacksmiths – bluegrass/Celtic rock
May 16: Mississippi Kites - country, blues and early rock and roll
May 23: Reggie Sullivan Band - jazz
May 30: Jackaroe - Americana
Rhythm and Blooms will take place every Thursday in May from 6:00pm to 9:00pm; a cash bar and food also will be available for purchase.
Parking and entry to the event will be available on the Garden side only at 1300 Botanical Parkway in West Columbia. Tickets may be purchased at any Zoo or Garden ticket window or online. Members must present a valid membership card and picture ID at the gate; guest passes will not be accepted.
