Pony Ride Attendant

Duties: Under general supervision, operates and monitors the pony ride exhibit at the Riverbanks Farm, by leading ponies around the outdoor track while interacting with young riders. Must ensure that children and ponies alike are kept safe, and that children get an appropriate educational message from the experience. Is responsible for the care and husbandry of the ponies including feeding, grooming, cleaning the holding and exhibit areas, and record keeping. Reports to the Attractions Supervisor.

Requirements: High school diploma and 6 months work experience with ponies, horses or other large farm animals. Must have a good rapport with young children and enjoy interacting with them and their parents. Must have good presentation and communication skills. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, be able to lift 50lbs, and be able to walk long distances repetitively.

Education Program Instructor

Duties: Facilitate education programs for groups of children of various ages preschool through college. Supervise children while leading them through various student-centered classroom and hands-on activities. Horticulturist – Botanical Garden

Duties: Under general supervision, is responsible for the repair and maintenance of a variety of Riverbanks structures, facilities, and equipment. Performs maintenance duty assignments such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical. Tram Driver

Ropes Course Attendant

Events Technician

Duties: Under limited supervision is responsible for preparing the park for various special events. Tasks include building, painting, erecting and dismantling props and lighted images and “wrapping” trees with lights. This work is very physical; tasks are hands-on and require attention-to-detail. Must be able to follow directions and work independently and have a strong attention to detail. Insures the safety of the public by preparing displays and structures that are structurally sound. Maintains Riverbanks reputation for high quality events and aesthetics. Reports to the Senior Events Technician and the Events Manager. Requirements: Must have some electrical or construction experience and be able to demonstrate good planning, organization, and teamwork skills. Must be able to work from a ladder and on a man-lift/boom at significant heights. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Must have a valid SC driver’s license and be trained (or eligible for certification) to operate a forklift and a 60 ft boom. 25 hours per week, must be available nights and weekends.

Communications Center Representative
