QUICK FACTS:
BARN OWL
Take a peek in the loft as you enter the barn at Riverbanks Farm to see barn owls roosting overhead. Barn owls are one of the most widespread of all animal species. Like most owls, they are active at night.
JERSEY COW
Jersey cows are famous for the high butterfat content of their milk and high milk production. They were originally bred on Jersey, one of the Channel Islands off the northwest coast of France.
LLAMA
Although more slender in build and lacking the distinguishing hump, the llama's close link with the camel is unmistakable.
NUBIAN GOAT
The Farm's animal contact ring is home to a friendly group of Nubian goats. Females are called nannies or does; males are referred to as bucks; and young are called kids.
